2019 HathiTrust Member Meeting
Driving and Supporting Change in the Research Ecosystem

HathiTrust has framed a significant part of its strategic directions around the theme of Transformation, enabling our members to collectively address challenges that they could not on their own. Our focus for the 2019 Member Meeting is on the processes, programs, or activities that we can undertake to drive that transformation. We’ll also consider the many current and future changes in the research ecosystem and how those will affect libraries and HathiTrust.

Activities and discussion will encourage the exchange of ideas on how HathiTrust can support every stage of the scholarly lifecycle and serve as a catalyst for emerging forms of research, teaching and learning.

Attendees will contribute to a collective understanding of the emerging needs in our community that HathiTrust is best able to address. HathiTrust will share how members and library leaders can then communicate the value of HathiTrust to their stakeholders, from users to senior leadership.

Incorporating feedback from last year’s meeting, the 2019 Member Meeting Program Planning Committee is designing an agenda focused on interactive table discussions, presentations from members and HathiTrust staff, ample time for networking and socializing, as well as tools and materials to take back to your libraries.

Plan to Attend the 2019 Member Meeting

There is no registration fee for attendance and registration includes two meals and refreshments. Members are responsible for travel and hotel.

Registration is due by September 30, 2019. Room reservations at Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel will be open until that date.

Who Should Attend?

We strongly encourage attendance from the member representative, director, or dean of HathiTrust members, but their appointed delegates may attend.  Although the member meeting may not feature voting, it is important that attendees either be the voting representative or have the authority delegated to them.

We also plan to include lightning talks from members, highlighting use cases and accomplishments that would not have been possible without HathiTrust, and that could be replicated by other members. A limited number of spaces will be available to accommodate additional attendees who are presenting lightning talks.
