Call for Proposals: 2020 HathiTrust Community Week

Do you depend on HathiTrust as an essential part of your library or have you identified a new way to incorporate HathiTrust services and programs?  Are there HathiTrust experts at your library with something to share or a topic you’d like to investigate with a panel discussion?

If so, consider presenting at the virtual 2020 HathiTrust Community Week, which will take place the week of October 26 - 29, 2020. Following the virtual Member Meeting scheduled on October 22, this week aims to showcase member topics and we need your expertise. Help us provide engaging experiences for attendees by offering your talents and know-how as a presenter at our first-ever virtual conference.

Presentations and general attendance will be open to anyone affiliated with a member library, and we welcome new voices and perspectives.

Consider sessions related to the conference theme of “Interdependence and HathiTrust,” specifically programs that address

  • Moving from individual advocacy to collective action

  • Utilizing HathiTrust services and programs to enhance beneficial interdependence

  • First-hand examples of challenges to interdependence and how to overcome them.

Topics to consider include Collections; Discovery & Access; Teaching & Learning; Shared Print; U.S. Federal Documents; Print-disabled Access; User Support; and Copyright Review.

Don't let those ideas limit you! Feel free to suggest any program you'd like to present on. We're looking for an interesting array of programs and discussions that represent the variety of ways  our members engage with us and with each other. This year we are also looking for different types of programming including presentations, panels, and demonstrations.

Please complete the program request form by August 12, 2020.

Please submit only one form for each program proposal. We'll let you know by early September if your request is accepted. Please contact feedback@issues.hathitrust.org with any questions.
